The department arranges Tree Plantation Campaigns twice a year, spring and monsoon, to promote large scale tree plantations in the province. As a result of this activity, the department has been able to help the farmer communities to enhance the tree density from 3 trees per acre in 1947 to 17 trees per acre in 2001. Moreover, the awareness campaigns have helped in:
- Image building of the department
- Motivating farmers to increase tree cover on farm lands
- Creating awareness among masses
- Involving government institutions and other departments
- Providing technical assistance to farmers
- Advising preventive measures against tree pests and diseases
- Sericulture extension activities to promote and enhance silk production in the province

Wildlife extension services include:
- Wildlife & Parks awareness campaign through electronic and print media
- Lectures on wildlife & Parks in schools / colleges / universities
- Research facilities for research scholars
- Formulation of Community Based Organizations (CBO's)
- Availability of literature on wildlife to build public opinion
- Captive Breeding Parameters for local people
- PRA's for local communities (Participatory Rural Appraisal)
- Disease diagnosis and medication
- Private wildlife & Parks farming assistance services
