Eco-Tourism at Changa Manga and Wetlands, Uchhali & Chashma

The scheme titled “Eco-Tourism at Changa Manga and Wetlands, Uchhali & Chashma (On-Going Scheme)” is aimed at promoting sustainable eco-tourism through the development and implementation of comprehensive master plans at the designated project sites. The core objective of the scheme is to develop and upgrade eco-tourism facilities while ensuring that all tourism activities remain environmentally sustainable. The project emphasizes the creation of new facilities, renovation of existing infrastructure, development of wildlife safari and display enclosures in natural habitats, and supplementation of endemic species to enhance biodiversity and eco-tourism potential. A strong focus is also placed on capacity building and active involvement of local communities, alongside mass awareness campaigns highlighting the importance of wildlife, wetlands, and natural resources.

The final outcomes of the scheme include the transformation of Changa Manga into a major eco-tourism destination featuring safari experiences, adventure and lake-based attractions, a mini zoo, botanical gardens, amphitheater, floating restaurant, canopy walk, tram system, and comprehensive visitor facilities. At Chashma, the project will establish a fully equipped eco-tourism and recreational hub with children’s play areas, boating and fishing decks, eco-lodges, parking, restaurants, and complete utility services. At Uchhali, the scheme will develop an adventure and cultural zone comprising glamping pods, a star-gazing tower, boating decks, a cultural bazaar, modern visitor amenities, and supporting infrastructure, thereby promoting sustainable tourism, biodiversity conservation, and local economic development.
