Strengthening and Capacity Building of Wildlife Department for Conservation of Wildlife in Punjab

The scheme titled “Strengthening and Capacity Building of Wildlife Department for Conservation of Wildlife in Punjab (On-Going Scheme)” is aimed at reinforcing the institutional, operational, and technological capacity of the Wildlife Department to ensure effective conservation and protection of wildlife across the province. The core objective of the project is to establish robust infrastructure and operational frameworks to combat illegal wildlife activities, enhance conservation measures, and promote biodiversity preservation. The scheme focuses on the creation of Wildlife Force Lines and Wildlife Control and Command Centers at strategic locations, supported by the integration of modern technologies and advanced communication systems to enable real-time monitoring and swift response capabilities.

The final outcomes of the scheme include strengthened institutional capacity and improved operational efficiency through enhanced training and capacity-building initiatives for departmental staff. The establishment of a centralized Project Management Unit in Lahore will ensure smooth execution and effective oversight of development projects, leading to improved infrastructure, technological advancement, and better governance. Collectively, these measures are expected to contribute to sustainable development, enhanced wildlife protection, and broader environmental and social benefits across the province.
