The scheme titled “Implementation of Master Plan of Safari Zoo, Lahore (Phase-II) (New Scheme)” aims to further strengthen wildlife conservation, public education, and recreational opportunities through the development of modern, scientifically designed facilities. The project is focused on promoting environmental awareness and eco-tourism by introducing interactive, nature-based attractions while upgrading infrastructure and management systems to align with international zoological standards.
The final outcomes of the scheme include the establishment of South Asia’s largest aquarium and Pakistan’s largest walk-through bird aviary, providing unique educational and recreational experiences for visitors. The project will significantly enhance visitor engagement through the development of a Wildlife Theme Park and an Immersive Experience Centre, while expanding animal diversity with the introduction of key species such as crocodiles, hippos, and new bird varieties. Additional outcomes include improved natural habitats and scenic appeal through lake restoration and extensive landscaping, as well as the development of a residential colony to ensure better staff welfare and more efficient management operations.
